Mercy Education Limited is the education ministry of the Institute of Sisters of Mercy of Australia and Papua New Guinea (ISMAPNG) and governs Mercy Colleges across Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia.
The Chief Executive Officer on behalf of the Board of Mercy Education Limited and, in partnership with the Trustee Directors of Mercy Ministry Companions, invites applications from appropriately qualified and experienced educators for the position of principal of Emmanuel College Warrnambool, Victoria commencing Term 2 2025.
To be considered for this outstanding leadership opportunity, potential candidates must:
1. be a practising Catholic who demonstrates a firm commitment to Catholic Education.
2. have recent successful experience in a formally appointed leadership role.
3. be registered as a teacher with the Victorian Institute of Teaching, or in the case of interstate or overseas applicants, apply to become a registered teacher in Victoria.
4. possess academic qualifications additional to teacher training in areas such as theology and or educational leadership and successful participation in appropriate professional learning activities
5. have Accreditation for Leadership in Catholic Schools
6. provide a current Nationally Co-ordinated Criminal History Check obtained through the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
7. undertake and sign an attestation that the applicant is not and has not been bankrupt and has not taken the benefit of any law for the relief of bankrupt debtors, or compounded with creditors or made an assignment of property for the benefit of creditors
and must provide a personal letter that addresses how the requirements of the Selection Criteria are met along with:
A. full Curriculum Vitae which must be included with this application
B. referee forms forwarded to nominated referees who will send the completed forms to Mercy Education by the required date
Mercy Education is committed to the safeguarding and wellbeing of children and is legally required to obtain the following information about a person whom it proposes to engage to perform child-connected work:
1. Working with Children Check status, or similar check
2. proof of personal identity and any professional or other qualifications
3. the person’s history of work involving children
4. a Fit and Proper Person Declaration
5. references that address the person’s suitability for the job and working with children
