Enthused by the teaching of Jesus Christ and inspired by the vision of Catherine McAuley, Mercy Education aims to foster justice, compassion, hope and hospitality in the Mercy tradition. We commit ourselves to the provision of a supportive environment where we hold the care, safety and wellbeing of children and young people as a central and fundamental responsibility of our schools.
Our commitment is drawn from and inherent in the teaching and mission of Jesus Christ, with love, justice and the sanctity of each human person at the heart of the gospel.
Mercy Education is responsible for the governance and operation of thirteen Mercy colleges. These colleges of the Institute of the Sisters of Mercy of Australia and Papua New Guinea have been entrusted to Mercy Ministry Companions from 3 December 2021 which acts as the canonical sponsor of the education ministry of the sisters. Mercy Education is the employer of the Principal and staff of these Mercy colleges.
Mercy Education has a strong and worthwhile program of affiliation for schools with Mercy heritage or Mercy congregational governance. The various programmes offered through the Mercy Education Affiliate Program offer a genuine invitation to experience a broader Mercy schools’ network of professional learning, collegial gatherings as well as student social justice and immersion experiences.
